THE CONCEPT IDEA AIMS TO LEAD PEOPLE TO CALM INWARD TURN FROM CITY’S CROWD AND CHAOS LIKE IN WATER’S MOVEMENT. PEOPLE BEING A PART OF WATER AND THEY STARTS TO MOVE WITH THE WATER IN HORIZONTAL. IN THIS MOVEMENT HAS ALL THE SECRETS OF OLD TIMES TO TEACH PURIFY...
The project area is the historical bathhouse in Tuzla,
one of the summer resorts which has a natural water source of Istanbul.
The project aims to design a modern spa center by protecting the existing hotel accommodation buildings and natural flora. Despite the nature of the project area that needs to be protected, the project area was stuck in a region with dense industrial and residential zones. The Project area and the idle land next to the project area were designed as a city park. Whit this decision, privacy in the spa center became an important issue. On the other part, the land that next to the prject area, designed as an underground parking area and above of it wooded walkways to connect public transportation and spa center.
As a solution to privacy problems, the designer decided to have only two entrances to the project area first one as the main entrance is from wooded walkways and the secondary one is from the residential area. Public spaces are located between these two entrances (e.g. restaurant, cafe and shops.). South of these public spaces the monumental historic fountain located in the center. On the other side of the fountain is the entrance of the spa center building positioned. The spa center is decided to be located here as it is open to outside customers as well as hotel customers. North of these public spaces completely reserved for hotel customers with the hotel’s existing accommodation and sports halls.
